11. Double-Layered Plastic Bottle Feeder
This budget-friendly, eco-friendly project utilizes common household recyclables. Take a large two-liter plastic soda bottle and a smaller 16-ounce water bottle. Cut large window openings into the sides of the larger two-liter bottle, leaving the structural corners intact. Inside this larger bottle, suspend the smaller bottle, which has been modified with feeding ports and perches. The outer plastic bottle acts as a protective wind and rain shield, as well as a physical barrier that prevents larger birds from reaching the feeding ports of the inner bottle.
