5. Haunted Forest Classroom Doorway

5

Welcome your students into a world of mystery every morning by transforming your classroom door into the entrance of a Haunted Forest. Wrap the entire door frame in textured brown kraft paper, twisting and shaping it to look like the gnarled, ancient bark of spooky trees. Extend the paper branches outward across the top of the doorway, allowing paper leaves in deep shades of burgundy, burnt orange, and midnight black to drape down slightly, brushing past students as they enter.

Add glowing yellow paper eyes peeking out from the hollows of your paper tree trunks, and hang a couple of paper-cutout bats suspended from the top frame. You can write a welcoming, spooky message across the center of the door, such as “Enter If You Dare into Room 204!” This immersive entrance sets an exciting, adventurous tone before students even set foot inside the room, making your classroom the talk of the entire school hallway.
