12. The Quiff with Taper Fade
The quiff remains one of the most popular men’s hairstyles due to its versatility and flattering silhouette. Unlike the pompadour, which is swept back uniformly, the quiff focuses all its volume at the very front of the hairline, while the rest of the top hair is kept slightly shorter and styled forward. Paired with a clean taper fade on the sides, this look is balanced, modern, and incredibly stylish.
To style a quiff on straight hair, apply a heat protectant and a volumizing spray to damp hair. Using a blow dryer, direct the air upward at the front hairline while using your fingers or a vent brush to pull the hair up and slightly back. Once dry, rub a small amount of medium-hold wax or fiber between your hands and work it into the front section to lock in the height and texture, creating a bold, dynamic focal point.
