17. The Textured Slick Back
If the traditional slick back feels a bit too rigid or formal for your daily life, the textured slick back offers a fantastic, modern alternative. Instead of using heavy, high-shine pomades that glue the hair flat to the scalp, this version uses lightweight, matte-finish products to sweep the hair back while retaining natural volume, separation, and touchable texture.
To achieve this look, apply a sea salt spray or texturizing mousse to damp hair, then blow-dry backward using your fingers to guide the hair. Once dry, work a small amount of matte clay or styling paste through your hair from front to back. Use a wide-toothed comb or your fingers to sweep the hair back, creating visible texture lines and a relaxed, effortless finish that still looks incredibly polished.
