17. The Whispering Willow Watch
Built over a slow-moving, wide forest river, the Whispering Willow Watch is modeled after the drooping, graceful form of a giant weeping willow tree. The tower features a wide, rounded wooden base anchored into the riverbed, from which delicate spruce branches sweep outward and downward, ending in long strings of oak leaves and flowering vines that touch the water’s surface. The watch balconies are entirely enclosed within this curtain of green foliage, allowing guards to observe the riverbanks in complete secrecy. From the outside, the build appears to be nothing more than a majestic riverfront tree, but within lies a multi-level military post equipped with weapon racks, scouting maps, quick-release kayak docks, and long-range firing ports carved through the dense leaves.
