14. Floating Grim Reaper
Construct a terrifying, life-sized Grim Reaper that appears to glide effortlessly across the surface of your pool. Build a lightweight, T-shaped frame using PVC pipes and wrap it in black pool noodles to add bulk, shape, and buoyancy. Drape the entire structure in cheap, flowing black fabric or cheesecloth, letting the tattered ends dip slightly into the water so they ripple beautifully with the current.
Attach a painted skull prop to the top of the frame and cover it with a deep black hood. To make this decoration truly spectacular, mount the reaper onto a flat pool noodle raft so it stays perfectly upright. Place a battery-powered blue or red spotlight at the base of the frame, pointing upward into the skull’s face. As the wind gently pushes the figure across the dark pool, it will look like a spectral apparition patrolling the water.
