14. Laboratory Specimen Jars
Create a mad scientist’s laboratory aesthetic by lining your shelves, mantel, or windowsills with glowing zombie specimen jars. Fill large, vintage glass jars with water dyed with a few drops of green or yellow food coloring to simulate preservation fluid. Inside the jars, submerge highly detailed vinyl zombie heads, severed hands, brains, and eyeballs. Place a small waterproof LED puck light at the bottom of each jar pointing upward. The illuminated, distorted water creates a magnifying effect, making the decaying features of the specimens look incredibly realistic, grotesque, and mesmerizingly beautiful.
